The long-awaited-by-no-one release of Programmingwave.com 2.0 has arrived. The new version is now out of Beta and available at the main site.
2.0 uses Bootstrap 3.x (and will be updated to 4.x once it releases), and is far more visually appealing. 2.0 also drops some parts of the site that aren’t needed, and, thanks to Bootstrap, is responsively designed, capable of working just as well on mobile devices as on desktops.
Adding further to the mild confusion around 2.0, I have decided to use Bootstrap instead of Joomla!, and continue to partly custom-build the site. You can see progress as it advances at the Beta; it will likely be somewhat awful and even worse than the current site for a while as I try to get Bootstrap working like I want it to.
However, progress will now be made, unlike with Joomla!, as Bootstrap is far easier to set up.
Programmingwave.com 2.0 is going to use the Joomla! CMS.
We are waiting on an update to the version of PHP on Programmingwave.com from our hosting provider. As soon as that is done, development on Programmingwave.com 2.0 will begin. I will post another update when that happens.
I’m very sorry for the recent issue with the navbar, it’s fixed now and shouldn’t happen again. Little side effect of that, we’ve got a new style for the navbar! Woot!
Sadly, the release of Programmingwave.com 2.0 may be delayed significantly due to insufficient funds to purchase IPS Community Suite. I will post another update when enough money is available.
Programmingwave.com 2.0 is on it’s way!
This new version will have many new features including a forum system, a complete restyling, and much, much more!
Programmingwave.com is a small scale website with just a few pages and some simple programs I have written, it is currently in version 1.??.
